PRODUCTION MANAGER

Fox River Fiber, the 2013 recipient of the Best Places to Work Award from the Pulp and Paper Manufacturers Association, is seeking a highly qualified Production Manager for its De Pere, Wisconsin, facility.

Fox River Fiber is a team-oriented organization that provides for its associates while serving as a steward of the environment. The company earned the Business Friend of the Environment Award from Wisconsin Manufacturers & Commerce in 2011. It is the leading manufacturer of 100% recycled pulp.

The Production Manager will provide leadership, guidance and direction for all production teams, ensuring a safe work environment through the proper operation of equipment while meeting all production goals and deadlines. The Production Manager will work closely with the R&D and Engineering & Maintenance teams to maintain the highest product quality while improving productivity and reducing operating costs.

Major Responsibilities:

  • Day to day management of production and production teams
  • Provide leadership to team leaders and production associates to achieve plant goals
  • Provide guidance through planning with department managers to ensure total manufacturing objectives are accomplished in a timely, safe, and efficient manner
  • Collaborate with all other functions of the organization and suppliers to obtain optimum production and utilization of people, machines, and equipment
  • Review production and operating reports and direct/assist the resolution of operational, manufacturing, and maintenance problems to ensure minimum costs and downtime

Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business Management, Operations Management or equivalent discipline
  • 7+ years management experience
  • Excellent skills at developing/mentoring people
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to influence others

      Manufacturing Technicians/Operators

Our self-managed work teams are responsible for:

  • Working at the highest level of safety and quality standards at all times.
  • Being an Owner-Operator-Maintainer-Improver of all equipment.
  • Operating machines at centerline conditions, standard speeds, etc. to maximize productivity and efficiency.
  • Executing asset strategies and contributing to their continuous development and improvement
  • Maintaining the integrity of all assets and operating equipment to ensure on-going safe, reliable operations.
  • Maintaining clean to inspect standards, ensuring periodic cleaning of assets and other areas.
  • Initiating, completing and/or assisting with equipment maintenance and repair as needed.
  • Taking an active role in learning the equipment, processes, systems, and technology.
  • Actively train/mentor other team members to foster their development and FRF’s Associate Principles, as well as drive continuous improvement in asset.
  • Optimizing machine performance including timely process adjustments, process monitoring, etc.
  • Perform continuous improvement activities and/or troubleshooting to improve operations.

This position will work rotating shifts on one of our self-managed production teams.   Our highly automated de-inking process is run with state-of-the-art equipment and our manufacturing technician positions would be a great opportunity for a highly motivated, technically inclined individual.  We offer a highly competitive salary and benefits program along with the opportunity to work in a progressive, safety conscious work environment.

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • Associates Degree in a technical field or advanced training plus experience preferred but not required
  • Strong commitment to working safely and for the safety of others
  • Strong Leadership traits
  • Ability to coordinate team based improvements
  • Prior manufacturing experience preferred but not required
  • Ability to contribute individually and in a team environment
  • Strong Microsoft Office computer skills
